Our Commitment to Sustainability
Amidst the picturesque landscape of the Ahrtal Valley, our company has placed sustainability at the core of its values. Following the severe impacts of the flood disaster in July 2021, we not only embarked on rebuilding our business but also made the decision to establish sustainability as an integral part of our business practices.
Ecological Focus and Climate Resilience
While the flood disaster may not have been directly caused by climate change, it highlights the increasing need to prepare for climatic extreme events. Our region is not immune to the effects of climate change, and as such, we are committed to making a contribution to reducing our ecological footprint.
The decision to implement a comprehensive insulation system in our rebuilt facility, the use of a heat pump, and the installation of a photovoltaic system with a storage unit starting in the fall of 2023 are concrete steps to reduce our dependence on non-sustainable energy sources and simultaneously minimize carbon emissions. Moreover, our entire fleet consists of electric and hybrid vehicles, promoting sustainable mobility.
SDGs and Corporate Assessment
In line with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we align ourselves with relevant goals that directly impact our company and the community. Topics such as clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, and climate action are of particular importance to us.
To quantify and improve our efforts, we have also undergone an assessment by Ecovadis. This independent assessment platform allows us to compare our sustainability practices with international standards and serves as a guide for further steps in our pursuit of sustainability.
